CARF accreditation earns Albuquerque provider increased insurance coverage
and a premium discount
Su Vida Services estimates its Philadelphia Insurance savings will cover its
next survey costs
Tucson, AZ -- March 9, 2007 -- When Su Vida Services, Inc., learned that Philadelphia
Insurance Companies offered premium discounts to qualified CARF-accredited providers,
the Albuquerque provider asked its insurance broker to investigate the coverage
and rates.
Su Vida Services was pleased with what the broker discovered. By switching
to Philadelphia Insurance Companies when it was time to renew its insurance,
Su Vida Services increased its level of coverage and also shaved about 5 percent
off the previous insurer's premium.
"The savings we realized on our insurance premium will likely cover the
costs for our upcoming CARF resurvey," Su Vida Services President Michael
Binkley said. "We were also impressed that A.M. Best rated Philadelphia
A+." (A.M. Best Company issues in-depth reports and financial strength
ratings about insurance organizations.)
Su Vida Services selected a package from Philadelphia Insurance Companies that
includes general liability, directors, automobile, and property coverage. "This
is a value added to our CARF accreditation and reflects the confidence that
a leading insurance company has in the role accreditation plays in managing
and reducing risk," Binkley said.
Su Vida Services serves approximately 100 persons, most of whom have developmental
disabilities. In 2004, the provider earned a Three-Year Accreditation, the highest
available from CARF, for its Host Family Services, Respite Services, and Personal
and Social Services.
Philadelphia Insurance Companies developed this exclusive insurance program
for U.S. nonprofit and for-profit providers that are CARF accredited for their
employment and community services or child and youth services. The premium discounts
are available to new Philadelphia clients.
More information about the program is available by selecting the Insurance
Discounts link on the CARF website's provider portal at www.carf.org/providers.aspx.
